MY STORY
mexico
My homeland, my country… Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The place where I was born and lived until the end of my university studies.
thailand
After finishing my studies in Mexico, I went abroad on my own for the first time for an internship to Bangkok, Thailand.
new zealand
After meeting my boyfriend Jono while in Bangkok, we travelled together through Southeast Asia and moved to Wellington, New Zealand.
BACKPACKING
south east asia
I did my first backpacking trip to Southeast Asia in 2019. My boyfriend and I flew from Bangkok to Malaysia and spent a month relaxing on our way to Singapore. After this we went to Bali, headed to Jakarta by bus and train. We flew to Brunei, visited Sarawak and Sabah. From there we travel through Laos, Northern Thailand and came back down to Bangkok. Finalizing our trip flying to New Zealand for our next adventure.

VAN TRIP
After our adventure through Southeast Asia, we traveled to New Zealand where I made my first van tour of the South Island from head to toe in about 2 months. On (southern hemisphere) summer of 2021 we went for a few shorter van trips to visit different interesting spots around the North Island.

VISITING
northern america
After 3 and a half years not being able to visit my hometown in Mexico due to Covid-19, Jono and I planned this visit through Northern America to see my family in Monterrey and brother in New York after coming to Jono’s best friend wedding in Vancouver in August 2022.

BACKPACKING
central america
After our Northern American trip, Jono and I were tempted to explore central America for a short while. Being smaller all together (the 7 central America countries) than most Canadian, US and Mexican states, we thought it’d be an awesome trip that could be done in a small amount of time and on a budget.

ADVENTURES
I feel inclined to say this is the first trip after Covid, even though we had a big one last year to North and Central America. This is the first trip where the notion of freedom and curiosity came back to me and I truly enjoyed.
Jono’s mom went back to Hong Kong for the first time after Covid and we merged this trip with her with our 5th anniversary together.

MEXICO 2025
In 2025, I decided to have a well deserved long time back in my home country. I hoped to relindle and learn more about the experiences of mexican people. Not only in my hometown but also around some of the other main cities in the country and a few other very special places.

AUSTRALIA
Can you believe that I’ve been in this side of the world for 5 years and I’ve never traveled to our neighbours’ in Australia? Jono’s brother had lived in Australia for a couple of years and their cousin and aunty live here. I joined them to rekindle with friends and family while having a fun 3 week adventure.
