Hello there, I hope you’re doing well. I’m all good for the most part. A bit of news from the last couple of days had made me a bit uncomfortable and stressed but it’s mostly my feelings of disappointment towards it more than the actual impact of the thing on my life and wellbeing. I feel like this winter season has been a bit disappointing work and general opportunity wise. I’m not fully aware of how things are overseas but New Zealand or at least Wellington is pretty dry. I’m not actively looking for work and I’m not worried about money necessarily but everything feels so lifeless and stale. How are things were you’re at?
Other than these recent feelings, the month has been stable. The first week of the month was still House sitting duties for Jono’s mom. The second week was all about school holiday program. The next was looking at this mid year review goals and such. Last week, I focused on making Jono’s beast mask and finishing off my Belle costume for one of Jono’s friend’s engagement party in Christchurch last weekend. Apart from the party itself which was hilarious… I did expect just a little bit more from this trip as I received the disappointing news while there and that lowered my general energy and mood. I’m still happy that I was there for Jono and his friends.
Highlights from July
- House sitting for Jono’s mom
- Mariana’s Baby Shower and individual pregnancy photoshoot
- School Holiday Program
- Palkie’s Pet Portrait commission
- Beauty & the Beast costumes: The Beast’s Paper Mache Mask
- Christchurch trip: Castle themed costume engagement party & bushwalk
- Lots of comforting snacks and treats
One thing I learned: To be mindful of my expectations and disappointment
One thing that I’m proud of: Finally doing a paper mache project, having a go at my first photoshoot by myself with Mariana, being a good model and caring for the school holiday kids, completing a pet portrait in a weekend.
How can I improve next month? To be mindful of disappointment
July Goal Review
Was July “Refreshing”? It was an interesting time. I might have a different answer if it wasn’t because of last weekend’s disappointing news, tiredness and low energy. I did what I could to get through and work around the activities that were already set up for the month.
Did I achieve my 3 goals for July?
- Get rid of excess clothes and objects: I did donate about 5 bags of clothes that I had separated the previous month. Because of the other activities we had in the month, I didn’t get to fully tidy up and get anything else out but the big bulk of it I did manage to get rid of.
- Go on a fun adventure during our Christchurch trip: Although it wasn’t what I expected, we had a nice time with Jono’s friends and managed to get the monthly walk in there.
- Get into 1 fun class, maybe Swing Dance: Jono and I discussed signing up for Swing Dance classes and the first class is the 31st of July!
How did my Mini Goals went?
- Walk in the bush: We did walk to a cave in Christchurch
- Tidy and refresh my home: I generally tidy up the things that were out of place that I could put away but I have some stuff laying around that don’t have a place and need to make space for them or declutter further.
- Fun artwork, play around with ideas to digitalize: I did go out for drawing walks to play around with my crayons but haven’t put anything up for digitalization. I’ll try to make this a priority in August.
- Look for a dermatologist: Will move this to the first week of August.
- Plan for a longer trip: Had some casual chats with Jono but nothing major.
Plan for August
August will be: Grounding
3 Goals:
- Digitalize 3 artworks
- Have a travel framework and visual scheme board
- Book dermatologist
Mini Goals:
- Walk in the bush
- Complete tidying and refreshing my home
- Bake something
- Buy skincare
- Track water and stretches
- Macramé fruit hanger
