Heya! Welcome to today’s travel diary. We are now in Laos, one of our last destinations on this trip around South East Asia. If you haven’t seen the rest of that trip’s posts you can start by checking out either of the following country’s page where I share with you tips and tricks for all as well as my personal adventures and stories:
South East Asia | Thailand | Malaysia | Singapore | Indonesia | Laos
How did we got here?
Something quite different from the usual jumping between countries… This time we didn’t come in via plane or land bus but rather a boat! And not just any boat but a slow boat that took us directly from Thailand to Luang Prabang city in Laos. This journey took two days. No internet, no signal or fancy meals, just a simple slow boat ride along the Mekong River.
Day 1 Slow Boat, Luang Prabang

Day 2 Waterfalls, Luang Prabang

Day 3 Lookout, Vang Vieng

Day 4 Hot Air Balloon, Vang Vieng

Day 5 Vientiane
Although we didn’t get to spend too much time in Vientiane, since we were only waiting to catch our flight to Bangkok, this capital city sure has its wonders and would be worth checking out if you do have the chance.

What Next?
Being this our last destination in South East Asia, we took a flight back to Bangkok to then have a layover at Singapore airport and ultimately… Wellington, New Zealand! How’s that for a change? If you didn’t know, my partner Jono is from New Zealand and I’m visiting for the first time to meet his family and have an awesome van trip around the South Island. Exciting right? Come along and explore with me this new adventure together!
