Hair Growth Month 1

Hello everyone! Welcome to the first month update to my hair growth after shaving it last month! I actually shaved it a bit longer ago than that. In December 2022 to be precise… But I shaved it again mid January to go work on a couple of summer festivals down south. More on that on the “I shaved my head” blog linked below:

This first month of growth felt like it was going very fast. I didn’t feel like I got to appreciate and let the feeling and the look of it all sink in in this time and that was another reason why I decided to shave it off again.

I wish I did more fancy photoshoots with my freshly shaven look but I was still getting comfortable and used to it the first couple of weeks and the second time I shaved it and left town pretty quickly. Fortunately, I was thinking on this project all along and I’ve been taking growth progress pictures to do a time-lapse once the pictures start piling up.

Week 1 – 4

I really liked how I looked right off the bat, you can see in my face I was starting to get more comfortable with it in week two although I was also getting the hang of how I’d like the pictures to look for these sequence.

Towards week 3 and 4, I started to see the duckling hair growth effect and it was quite funny to discover how my hair would grow up and to the sides but not on the edges. Giving me this boxy square look that I didn’t love. I could also start to see the hair going off the top of my ears.

I was thinking on bleaching my hair just to experiment the little extra bit but I ended up being too lazy for it. I was also wanting to follow some styling I saw on somebody’s video on youtube with shaved hair and gels, etc but I’m not as well versed or talented with hair so I didn’t get around to it.

I decided to portray the growth and styling as natural as possible to show the natural way the hair decides to go. Who knows, maybe in the future, I’ll shave it and start the process again but experimenting more with colour and styling.
